Recycling and waste

Classification and correct treatment

Total waste produced in 2023 came to approximately 27,141 tonnes, and can be classified almost entirely as non-hazardous waste. The most significant consumption categories include textile waste, packaging materials, sludge and waste water. Approximately 5,965 tonnes pre-production waste was generated in preparing the Group's items.

We recycle 92% of the paper and 99.7% of the cardboard we use in our factories. A large percentage is reused for inter-company operations, with a view to assuring reuse, where pallets are reused up to 10 times. This initiatives has made it possible to avoid 329 tonnes of cardboard waste. In terms of textile waste, more than 40% is reused for other purposes and is therefore not conferred to landfill. More than 70% of the plastic used does not end up in a landfill as 75% is recycled and the remainder reused or otherwise recovered. Instead 98% of organic waste is reused to produce compost and biogas and mainly comes from the canteens.
