A global coalition for a sustainable future

CALZEDONIA GROUP JOINS
“THE FASHION PACT”

In April 2019, French President Emmanuel Macron entrusted Kering Group President and CEO Francois-Henri Pinault with the task of creating a coalition that would bring together all the leading companies in the fashion and textile industry with the aim of setting unified objectives for a sustainable future by signing the “Fashion Pact”.

Calzedonia Group joined the coalition and signed the pact.

By signing the Fashion Pact, Calzedonia Group, together with other 55 leading fashion companies, has committed to achieving a number of practical sustainability goals in three key areas: stopping global warming, restoring biodiversity and protecting the oceans.

Discussions at the first working meeting, which was held on October 25 in Paris, focused on the governance of the Fashion Pact, the organization of the work to be carried out and the commitments made by its members.

Calzedonia Group is a vertically integrated company that has already been covering the entire production cycle for some time now, from manufacturing to selling its products to end-consumers. The large majority of its products are manufactured at company-owned facilities, but the entire production is channeled to company-owned logistics centers that supply both directly operated stores and franchisees.

Throughout the entire production cycle, Calzedonia Group is committed to ensuring safety, health and environmental protection, as well as optimal working conditions and fair wages. It also aims to grow together with the local communities, and meet all the necessary requirements in terms of energy sources and the use of raw materials, in accordance with the company’s code of ethics.

By joining the Fashion Pact, Calzedonia Group will now focus even more on sustainability and the environment, two areas that have always been a top priority for the company and that now will become increasingly important.
