The Oniwines project expands with two new wine estates: Pico Maccario, a historic winery in Piedmont and a symbol of modernity and innovation, and the more recent ERT1050, perched at 1,050 meters above sea level in Trentino-Alto Adige.
Founded and managed by brothers Pico and Vitaliano Maccario, the winery joined the ambitious Oniwines project in June 2025. The estate serves as a symbol of modernity, both in vineyard management and wine production. Its primary goal is to achieve the highest possible quality through dedicated teamwork that begins in the vineyard, continues in the cellar, and extends from Italy to every corner of the globe.
With a presence in over 48 countries, the winery produces some of the region’s most iconic denominations - Barolo, Barbaresco, Nizza, Barbera, Gavi, and Moscato - from vineyards located in the most prestigious areas of Monferrato and Langhe. What has always set Pico Maccario apart is the deep connection between wine, territory, art, and visual identity. This is symbolically represented by their unmistakable colored pencil-shaped posts, which have become a permanent art installation and one of the company’s most recognizable trademarks.
In the Trentino dialect, ERT means "mountain slope" a tribute to the rugged and wonderful land that hosts our vineyards. The number 1050 refers to the altitude, emphasizing the scale of this vertical endeavor.
ERT1050 is the name of the winery that stands like a fortress protecting the project, offering a view that stretches across the Brentonico plateau and beyond. Known as the Garden of Italy, Brentonico is a place where nature dances in perfect balance between the mountains and the sky, nestled between the peaks of Monte Baldo, Monte Altissimo di Nago (2,070 m), Colma di Vignola (1,606 m), and Pravecchio (1,540 m).
ERT1050 is also the name of our first Trento DOC Metodo Classico Brut, aged on the lees for 24 months. It is a fresh and lively wine, featuring subtle notes of white flowers and mountain Golden apples, with a vibrant acidity highlighted by a distinct salinity and crispness.
The large windows and terrace place the observer before a magnificent natural stage; the sensation is one of being immersed in the clouds, becoming a part of the landscape itself. ERT1050 celebrates the perfect synergy between nature, challenge, and knowledge.
