The first strides towards a more sustainable future

Fashion Pact - One year after the signing

On October 25, 2019, the Calzedonia Group joined The Fashion Pact. For the first time in the Fashion industry, this global coalition unites leading companies from the fashion and textile industry committing to a common core of ambitious quantified environmental objectives focusing on three areas: mitigating climate change, restoring biodiversity and protecting the oceans.

One year since its creation, membership has doubled to 60+ signatories, stemming across multiple sectors and 14 countries, together representing over 200 brands and 1/3 of the fashion industry. This level of diversity and reach is key to ensure end-to-end impact along the supply chain.

Despite the Fashion Pact is still at the beginning of its impact, the coalition has made its first strides towards a more sustainable future.

After a year from the joining, the Calzedonia Group has carried out several initiatives on the three pillars of the coalition.

Climate

The Fashion Pact’s signatories have committed towards the implementation of Science Based Targets (SBTs) for Climate to achieve net-zero carbon impact by 2050:

  • achieving 25% low-impact materials sourcing by 2025
  • achieving 50% renewable energy by 2025, and 100% by 2030.

  • supporting zero deforestation and sustainable forest management by 2025
